No signal? No problem.
Queso can message people right around you with no internet at all — connecting straight over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, phone to phone. When there's no bar of signal to be found, your messages still get through to anyone nearby.
How it works
Turn on nearby mode and Queso quietly discovers other Queso users within range, then connects to them directly — no router, no cell tower, no account needed on either side. Messages hop straight from your phone to theirs over the local network or Bluetooth, and they're still end-to-end encrypted, just like everything else on the Queso Network. The moment one of you is back online, conversations sync up as normal.
The whole world has dead zones. Queso doesn't care.
On a plane ✈️
Flight mode on, Wi-Fi off, a long flight ahead — keep chatting to the people you're travelling with, seat to seat.
Festivals & crowds
When 80,000 phones have knocked the mast flat, Queso finds your friends when nothing else will load.
Hiking & remote areas
Up a mountain, deep in a valley, out in the wild — stay in touch with your group when there's no coverage for miles.
Cruises & ferries
Skip the eye-watering satellite Wi-Fi bill and message everyone else onboard for free.
Underground & subways
No signal on the platform or in the tunnels? Coordinate with the people you're with, regardless.
Travel & roaming
Landed abroad with no data plan yet? Message your travel companions without paying a penny in roaming.
Conferences & venues
Big halls crush mobile data. Find your colleagues on the show floor without a single bar.
Just the people nearby
No reason needed — strike up a chat with other Queso users around you, at the café, co-working space or campsite.
Off the grid, but never unprotected
Nearby messages connect directly between devices and never touch our servers — and they're end-to-end encrypted with the same Signal Double Ratchet as the rest of the Queso Network. Off the grid doesn't mean off your guard.
